do i still have a 03 turbo?

my 04 psd was built in 09/03 and has 03 on the side on the engine. so im gonna guess i have a 03 turbo. before i bought the truck Jon ran a oasis on the truck and said it had the turbo replaced. so did ford put another 03 on their or something diffrent?

I don't think there is a difference in the turbo from 03 to 04.

is there a difference between the 03 to 06 turbos? I had mine replaced in dec 06.it does not have the same power or mpg as it did before could that because of a diffrent turbo?

I thought that the 03 turbo was the loudest one. and Something with the veins or something?!?!

Yes there is a difference. The 03 turbo has 10 exhaust vanes and has a removable silencer ring IIRC. The 04 turbo has 12 or 13 exhaust vanes and has the silencer rings machined into the intake side IIRC.

Yes... there is a difference... the 06 6.0 turbo has 15 exhaust side vanes.

You can check by counting the exhaust vanes of the turbo.

10 = 03 more then 10 = 04+

has anyone had success to remove the silencer ring on the 03 turbo, I was told they can only be done on the dodge turbo diesels?
