Air Filter

Who invented the stock air filter? They are a pain to change. Waste of Time!

I believe it is a Donaldson filter, but as far as design, I have no clue. They are a PITA to change, though!!!

I'm not sure, but several folks have said that these things can hold like 2 pounds of dirt. I tried to get mine out and got fed up so I had it changed a few oil changes ago.

Ford states they can hold up to 3 pounds. They also say the filter minder is the only thing to base a change on and over 50,000 miles is not at all unusual in typical driving conditions.

Just FYI - I weighed a new one and it was 3 lbs 10.5 oz. It will be interesting to check the dirty filter weight when changed.
