New Guy
Hello, this is my first post been lurking around for 9 months or so. My daily drivers: since H.S. were a couple Mercedes Diesels (+300K Miles), now an 86 s10 blazer 4x4 is not going to last long. So i am FINALLY going to pull the trigger on a Ford PSD I've always wanted.
Advice please: I found locally for sale '03 F350 6.0, crew short bed 4x4 lariat, 67,000 miles, 4x4, non-dually, very clean, after market stainless exhaust, air intake mods and zoodad, i think?. No chips or tuners installed, New ball joints with grease fittings, newer tires. >>$26,00 OBO, what should i offer? Thanks! Last edited by Merc1973; 03-08-2008 at 09:31 AM. |

It is the original owner, He also owns a huge Diesel repair shop in town. He is on vacation so i chatted with a worker at the shop and took it for a test drive. He said it has never been driven in winters except once on a trip from IL to CA and avg 19 mpg. Only known problems: 2 replace injectors and one EGR. Never driven a PSD onlt a '90 f350 International dump. Seems to have quick positive shifts and tons of power........ there was white smoke upon start up but hasn't been started in few weeks.... what else should i find out???????

Price seems a bit high to me.
Just bought an '05 F-250 in Jan with 50k miles - Short bed crew cab 4x4 lariat with an absolutely spotless interior and exterior, along with the balance of the factory engine warranty and aftermarket extended warranty (2.5 years, ~80k miles). Also had the FX4 package, toolbox, spray in liner, and gooseneck hitch. Only paid $26,000. From recent experience, make sure you know *exactly* what's required to transfer the warranty if it's not a Ford ESP. Mine had to have paperwork from the dealer he bought from, copies of receipts for all required maintenance since bought, and a $50 transfer fee. You'll love the truck though! |
