OMG, Dirty filter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, so i got some filters in the mail today. so i went to change it out and OMG the amount of sand that already fell out was crazy, plus i beat the filter on the floor to get this out, can you say HOLY S*** batman!!!!i guess with all the crappy weather we have had and the sand on the roads can add up really quick, this is why i do not plan on removing my stock intake. this had only about 15-20K miles on it if even that!!!!

You want the honest to god truth....

thats nothing!!! That filter wasnt even 10% clogged....

thats the beuty of the Donaldson filter the 6.0's have......ive dropped them on thier face and had six-eight times that much dirt come out...and watching the air flow based on the mass air flow sensor....aboslutely no performance was lost with one being way more plugged than that. There is so much surface area to that filter that it will hold pounds of dirt before its clogged!!!

yeah i got another stock filter and i dont look at the filter minder at all, i just change them after so long (about 3-4 oils changes) anyways and Marc, that is the reason I am not ditching the STOCK filter, the backside was absolutely clean as a whistle.

based on the amount of dirt you got out....i would extend your air filter interval to 5-7 oil changes...that filter had a lot of life left in it

I think they say that filter will hold 3 pounds of dirt before it gets restricted. I know mine had 30K miles on it and didn't really shake much out of it but it made a big difference in the smoke level when I changed it.
