03 Turbo Swap????

I have been considering doing an 03 turbo swap on my 2006 f-250. Has anybody done this? What additional parts do I need to do it?

Would this swap cause any performance changes? I dont want to do it if I will lose power by switching it out.

Any help is appreciated.

You will need the 03 turbo pedestal as well as the turbo...you won't loose power but gain that infamous whistle.

I am about to do the same swap in the next week or so...got the turbo, ordering the pedestal.

Where is a good place to find an 03 turbo?(other than the dealership of course) I'm fixing to trade mine for an 07.

You can try salvage yards or eBay...but there is always a risk with gettin a burnt one. It took me awhile to find one that I could trust. I found several, but none from a trustyworthy source.

$400 a good price for a 03 turbo and pedistal? I have the parts waiting for me at a dependable salvage yard but I had an ex-ford diesel tech tell me not to put it on for several reason including the veins and something to do with the oil line?? Someone talk me into doing it pleeeassse!!!

Is there anything about the 03 turbo that would cause check engine light to come on? What is a reasonable price to pay for a turbo and pedestal???? Is this something that is fairly easy to install?

Its just my opinion but I would spend my money on something that is actually going to benefit the performance instead of sounding like it is.

I disagree, that sound is worth some money in my opinion. Yes, most money should be spent on performance mods but the 03 turbo whistle is AWESOME. It is all in personal preference. Delaware King Ranch would agree with me on this since he is swapping his, I am jealous!

His is probably like mine and you hear more out of the intake than exhaust... 03 is ALOT louder
