04 f350 drw,,buy or not

found a 04 dually for her to pull her horse trailer.
its a 2wd 185000,mile crew cab,leather, they are asking 11,900.think i can get it for 11. seems like a great price,but in the air about haveing a 6.0.there is all so a 00 for 14k... so what truck to buy,,do you buy the 04 and take a chance or buy the 7.3 from a privte seller ..

I love my 7.3, The 6.0's seem like a crapshoot some are great and some demolish your wallet.
Plenty will argue both ways around here, lol.

7.3, Auto., 4x4, 6637, Straight Piped Stock Exhaust, WW, Foilgone.

i love the 7.3... they're so reliable. i don't know too much about 6.0's but i'd go with the 7.3

how many miles on the 00? what options on it??

I personally would be slightly leary of any 185k diesel unless it also came with immaculate maintanence records.....not to say i wouldnt buy it but i would be very cautious of ANY higher milage truck just cause maintanence is so critical with them....

test drove the 04 tonight

inside was nice ,clean,out side ,,well the front bumber had a big dent ,left head ligt not fitting right,the dealer said they just out 1,400 in the truck ,one new injector,windshild,oil change,had a bully dog outlook in it as well..so tells me it was mod. so really scared of it now,needs tires........going back to try the 2000,,think thats the one we will buy,abit older but very well taken care of said oil change ever 5000,dealler did all work on it,,said he has never had a engine or tranny problem at all..and 14 is not a bad price..
