EGR coolers rupture when they fail, not clog. If your EGR valve or the inside of your intake is wet, then the EGR cooler has probably gone 10 toes up.

Run your truck hard after it warms up...park it with the nose facing down...like on a hill...wait about 8 hours and pull the egr valve out n see if it's wet...I had the same issue and turns out my cooler was shot...when I pulled it outta my truck it was full of coolant

Will a bad egr cooler make the truck run rough sometimes and lose power?

It can, yes. Any smoke out of the exhaust? Usually it's most noticeable on a cold start.

This may sound weird, when you turn the key to on position and hold the trip button on instrument cluster till it says test then start the truck. You can scroll through to digital rpm ,my truck always fluxgates 10-15 rpms .Just making example but we will say it's at 650 it will go 658-667-648-660 never constant. And does anybody know what the other things are in the cluster, there's rpm,alt volts ,dtc .I would love to know what all these readings are.
