Tire size ?

I have an 05 Harley edition with the 20x8 rims and eventually I want to put a lift kit and some mean tires on it. I am having a hard time finding tires that will fit since they are recommended on at least an 8.5" rim. Any of you guys out there know what size tires would fit? I don't think it would be right to buy a Harley truck and ditch the rims I paid extra for.

Thanks,
Scott

not much really. I've been eyeing super swamper SSR's for mud/snow tires, they make the stock 265/70R17 for my truck (i'm not looking to lift it untill the suspension wears out.) and there are some larger sizes available too.

Take a look:

Sell!

You could always sell them. I'm sure there is someone out there that will give you what you want for them. They're really nice rims for factory gear. It is kinda dumb though, they should have just went ahead and made them 20x9!

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about the 20x9's. I think I would be too tight. There is minimal clearence on the front wheel wells since these tires are equivilant to 33's I think. I thought about selling them also and it just doesn't seem right. Thanks guys. I did see a Harley truck on ebay with a 4" lift and some Nitto Mud Grapplers. I asked the size and he just said 33's. They must be the 33x12.5x20's. I'm tryin to figure out what I want to spend my tax return on. My first thought was a new welder and some more tools, now I'm thinking a lift and tires so I can go play in the mud.

do you use snow tires? You could mount them on those rim for the winter and then get new wheels and tires for the rest of the time

Maybe give your local discount tire a call if you have one. They've always seemed to have the answers that i've needed without going, ummmm...ummm...well..... You might be able to get away with the 8" rims.

To be honest i've got Michellen LT265/70R17 LTX/AS tires on the factory crome rims for day to day driving/towing/working/etc. and i'm gonna get some black rock crawler rims (~70 a wheel) and some mud/snow tires to have fun with.

Unfortunatly I'm feeling a little screwd trying to find 8x170mm lug wheels in 17 inch or larger sizes, I may just have to go to ford and get some ugly base modle wheels. Has any one else found cheap wheels for these trucks?

I just ran a set of SSR's off my H2 and replaced them with the new TrXus M/T's and although the swampers were a great tire the TrXus's really rock in the snow and ice, they are much quieter and seem to do as well in the mud too. I cant say enough about these tires.

I didn't know that the trXus tires were that good. I've like the swamper ssr's for a while now. The only bad thing was the price of them. That's why I just decided to get more a street/all terrain tire than something for off-road.
