Engine oil analysis
Has anyone ever had this done? I've checked around at a few places and I was just wondering if there is any company that anyone prefers or uses a lot on this site?

You can order a kit from Amsoil and send it in. Its about $25 to $30 for the service. It takes about 2 weeks to get it back. Good service, gives easy to understand info.

I've heard good things about Blackstone labs.

Most people here will recommend Blackstone Labs. Another option that may be cheaper is if you have a Caterpillar, Komatsu or John Deere dealer nearby. All of them do analysis and it's usually cheaper than mailing a sample off.

I'll check into the cat dealer, my brother in law was working at one about a month ago as a diesel tech. Blackstone was the one that I was looking at last night. 22.50 is a pretty reasonable price. Do you think that the analysis is worth the money?
