It is fun to dog dodge and Chevy but it really all boils down to what you the individual prefer and what works for you. My neighbor swears by his 2013 dodge 3500 cummins. He's still got his early 90's model and traded in his 07 to get the 13. All three have faithfully pulled countless loads of hay on 40ftgoosenecks.

It all comes down to what you like. Me, it's Ford all the way. Others, maybe not and that's cool.

Lol the Allison is piece of crap. I will not talk bad about the duramax, that motor makes some good power. Give the 6.7 Powerstroke some time, I think it has duramax-like power potential.

Again you are mistaken. The Allison is junk unless it is built propery when you start adding power to it. Also the Duramax is made by Isuzu not Gubment motors.

Short of chopping off the rear two cylinders and lining up the remaining six in a row? No.

In light duty trucks you are paying for the name of the Allison transmission. They are JUNK in the light duty trucks. Now medium duty and class 8 trucks they are awesome transmissions. Trust me and Adam when we say they are junk unless they are built to the hilt.

Correct. Isuzu makes a killer diesel. Dad used several of them as well as Nissan diesels in Australia and even though they were 4 bangers in 1 ton trucks he had plenty of power and were extremely reliable. They were doing mining exploration drilling core samples across the Northern territories creating geo maps. When you're sometimes days from where you change to order parts you're equipment has to last and honestly, our PSD's, according to him wouldn't be able to do it.

I will take a Ford 4r, 5r or 6r over the Allison any day. Stock of course, once they are built, it doesn't really matter, I suppose.

One of the main attractions to a 6.0 is the sound of them, especially at idle....no 7.3 can even touch it. SOmetimes i think my 6.0 is louder at idle than a 7.3...engine noise wise. The 12v cummins sounds good......but you cant beat the sound of the 6.0 HEUI System and turbo whistle and the sound of a V8.

Nothing turns heads like a HEUI cold start with trashed spool valves... Definitely not a lope tune.
