SCT Question
Alright guys i got a SCT livewire from my mom for christmas and i really want to go flash my truck. She bought it from DJ's performance and she got the street smoke tune which i really want to get hooked up. But she told me that the guy wanted to talk to me about something he had a question about the truck but i was wondering if it is ok just to go ahead and flash it??? I have 2006 6.0 only mod is catback 5in exhaust. Anyone have any idea what he would want to know or if it would be safe to go ahead and flash it??? Thanks in advance guys and Merry Christmas!!

You should get some gauges first.

He needs to know some details about your truck before he can wright your tunes, gear ratio, tire size, pcm code, etc.
Then you need to get on SCTs web site and download a program to run your Livewire from your PC. E-mail DJs and ask Viv about all you need to do, she is great help. Last edited by Big Tone; 12-25-2007 at 07:43 AM. |

Yea you can run the canned tunes, but you should get some gauges first. And as Bigtone said he needs some info for the custom tunes.

he dont need gauges with the live wire.
he probably needs to know the engine's strategy (I think that is how you say it) When I ordered my SCT, they told me to go look at the driver's side battery and there would be a white label with about 5 ro 6 numbers/letters on it. They said that was the strategy for the PCM, or something like that. |

so it would ok to run the canned tunes just not the custom tunes???

Plug it up to your truck and see what it does?
Mine didnt have any canned tunes in it, but I am pretty sure you have to have the PCM stratagy to run the canned tunes. |

On SCT's website, they say you can plug right up and run the canned tunes.
But if you have custom tunes, you will have to provide the PCM strategy to the place that loaded your custom tunes. At least that is the way I read it. They also have a chart that tells you where the PCM strategy is located for your year vehicle. |

I didnt have to do anything with fuses and i dont know what thats about, and the pcm strategy is for when he makes the custom tunes, you can run the canned ones if it came with them. My xcal 3 did so id imagine the livewire does.
