Recent Mileage from Houston to Dallas

I just took a couple of trips out to a little town Near Midland TX called Big Spring, TX. On the way back I decided that I would track my mileage from Dallas (Where I filled up) back to Home. You can see my mods, and "the Big Girl" turned an impressive 21.9 miles a gallon! It was over 200 miles that it produced this return.

Not to shabby man! What was your avg. speed? I can get that mileage but at 55 mph. 65 and up drops to around 18.5. I don't know how trucks get better at around 75-80 like some I've read about.

Cruise @ 65mph the whole way
Yesterday (12/20/2007) She got 19.5 from Big Spring, TX to Dallas
Cruise @ 70-75mph
Last week (12/14/07) She got 15.4 San Antonio to Odessa TX
Cruise @ 85mph

Back off the turbo and deisels perform pretty well.

Yea, I read on the other thread after I posted here. Have you ever tested at 55 mph?

No biggie. To be honest it was ALL I could do for three hours to keep off the long thin peddle at 65mph. I do not know if I could do that for 55mph. I bet it would be in the middle 20's mpg though!

I hear ya, sometimes its hard to keep from :burnout now and then. Oh well fuels cheap anyway. BTW, sharp truck there!

I do some long distance driving on country roads where I run 55-60 for extended times. I've seen 24.9 before running about 80 miles nonstop late at night where I could run cruise.

I wish it got that day to day. I usually average in the 13s. On the road at 75 or so if the terrain is fairly flat, I usually get 20 or so.
