Block heater?
Was under my truck today checking for loose bolts in my quest to solve my idle vibration since my exhaust is NOT the problem, no matter what the dealer said. I've been wondering if it could be loose pedestal bolts?
Anyway, found this threaded electrical connector that's mounted into the block next to the starter with nothing plugged into it. Looks like a big electrical outlet lookin' thing. Is this a block heater? I didn't know my truck came with one from the factory? What is this thing in the block next to the starter? |

It is my understanding that all 6.0 had block heaters from the factory. The trucks that did not pruchase the block heater option didn't have the cord installed. My 05 6.0 did come with a block heater option but, the cord went bad (would trip the breaker in my barn when plugged in) I just replaced it with a cord I bought on ebay. Paid $20.00 for the new cord and have had no problems since. Hope that helps.
