18mpg or better post here!
Ok guys, I am on a mission to get as good of fuel mileage as the dodge boys. I know I will eventually probably have to drop some decent change to do it, but I refuse to settle with 15mpg out of a great truck. Heres what I need to know: Anyone who is getting 18mpg or better please list
what size your truck is? 4x4 or 4x2? What size tire are you running? What mods and cost? Average speed to achieve this fuel efficiency? What gear ratio is it? 373 or 410? Have you had any problems out of your truck? This last weekend I drove my truck 700miles and average around 15.2mpg on the interstate. When I drove my truck and completely babied it on the highway and only went around 60mph the whole time I maxed my mileage out and got 17.2mpg. The only mods I have done to my truck is put a truflow air filter on it and cut my cc and muffler. I am open to any and all suggestions! |

Info is in my sig. Not sure of the axle gearing. I get around 19 on the highway. Getting ready to drive it approx. 2000 miles and I'm going to be paying special attention to the MPGs during the trip. I'll let you know what I find out.

I have an 06 F-250 CC, short bed, 4x4 with a 373 rear end. I am running 265R17 BFG at's. I cut my muffler out and my cat, also put a truflow air filter on there to help it breath, but I didnt really see any substanial gains from that. I just got the truck with 26K on it, runs like a champ but I just have to have better fuel mileage out of it because I drive about 1,000 miles a week.
What is everyones input on a chip that helps out the most on MPG.. power is not a huge issue, not really doing the hauling like I used to. |

pardon my ignorance but what is a zoodad mod and also what does the "Innovative Diesel intake elbow with butterfly valve manifold removed" do? What are costs on these as well?
I might be driving this out to Steamboat Colorado on Jan 1st.. about a 2800 mile trip for me.. so these mods will be coming soon if they are economical enough and have enough of an impact! |

See sig. Both have factory tire size and both are 3.73s. Both get 18-20 city/highway combined.
