Remote Starter

Anyone know about remote starters for diesel. I live where it gets cold and wanted to get one for christmas.

Will it wait for the glow plugs? Will it crank till start or crank wait and crank again? I want to make sure I can use it before I buy it and especially make sure it wont do any damage!

Let me know

I'm also looking for a remote start, but I'm worried if i remote start it and there ends up being a problem like the oil presure drops, and the check engine light comes on. Will it be able to see that there is a problem and turn off?

I have a hornet remote start and security system. It does wait for the glow plugs. It came on the truck when I bought it. No complaints here. It works within a miles range too. It says it will crank for 7 seconds if it does not start it will quit.

Remote starters are awesome. I know of a few guys who have them. I'm not sure about things but I think they just leave their heater cranked up inside the cab whenever they exit so it'll be on in the morning when they remote start the truck. I think they stay running for 10 or 12 or maybe even 15 minutes and the truck will shut off if you don't put the key in.

Lethal03 - I see your from Wheeling, I'm from right across the river. Nice seeing another "valley" guy on here.
