Well I just fried my PCM in my truck due to my programmer. It also blew up my tranny. Already spent $4000 and bout to spend another $1500 for a new computer. So warming y'all. Y'all be careful with y'all's chips bcuz it will destroy your truck.
Well I towing my boat and the tranny slipped and wouldn't go back into drive. And when you start up the truck and put it into rev or drive it will take 5 sec to think bout it and then finally go. It would shift all hard and funky. And when you drive and when it tried to shift into 3 gear it won't and would lag and the rpms would soar up to 4500-5000. They took the Tammy apart. All the bearings and selenoids were shot. Clutches were galded up together and burned up. They thought it was just the tranny wrong but it has a new rebuilt tranny now and still does what it's doing. So the chip fried the computer now. It's acting like it wants to go into rev when your in 3rd. I haven't had the truck since thanksgiving.
Are you familiar with how it was treated for its first five years of life?
Also - sounds like your Livewire device was messed up - it happens, but not all that common (more so though w/ the Livewire than the earlier SCT devices).
Tranny had plenty and fresh fluid and cooler was all good. Everything had just been tuned up several months ago and was running like a champ and then it did this. And the PCM is fried. That's what they told me.
Well I double check with ford bout that. But that's what they said. The said the chip fried it bcuz it was a hot chip and it was too much for the truck
And what was the egt when it blew? Were you not watching the tranny temp? You kept driving it despite serious symptoms? Have you not read here, the importance of monitoring?
OK. Now you know. Don't even think about adding any modification to a vehicle, if you don't know to monitor it. Sorry to be so harsh....but YOU killed your truck. Have a beer, go buy a Honda, drive it and don't do anything to it.
Even if the SCT device was screwed up, you would have seen it by monitoring things and stopped.....instead of driving it till it blew. Sounds like you had ample warning. So....if you dropped a 1000 horse motor in a boat, and it flipped, would you get the boat fixed, then do it again?
Egts were 900deg and tranny temp was in the middle perfect. All the monitors were perfect when it did it. And yes I monitor my gauges all the time. I check all my fluids every trip I make. I change oil, oil filter, fuel filters every 5000miles. Coolant every 30000 and trans fluid every 50000.
Eric at innovative is my custom tune writer. I was towing like 3800-4000 lbs.
