Question Oil on engine question?

Hey I'm new here, looking at buying a new 03 F-350 and it's got this oil on the motor

Look at the boost tube by the radiator and on the valve cover. You think this is bad?

Thanks

The oil on the boost tubes is very normal because of the crankcase ventilation being routed through the turbo. I wouldn't be concerned about it at all. The oil on the valve cover could be from anything. It is a diesel and they do tend to leak a little more than a gas burner. I'd be more concerned with what was underneath than on top, but all in all from what little I see in that picture I wouldn't be concerned. Get the VIN # and let one of the guys run an Oasis on the truck. That's more important than a little oil on the motor.

Yeah I knew they had a small problem with that too, just want to make sure, I'm gonna be paying my parents a while for this thing haha. I'm in Mooresville BTW.
