03 f-350 swap to 06 frame and suspension.. will it work?

i have a rolled 03 f-350 and have everything but i just need to put it together and i mean from the frame up... but i was wondering if i could take all the 03 stuff and put on a 06 frame because there is a good one with the suspension and axles here at a salvage yard and he said he would swap me and that way i would have the coil front end... will everything fit as far as motor, tranny, t-case and body or is there gonna be some hidden disaster? thanks

you should be okay as long as all of the electronics swap over with the motor. dont try to run the 03 engine with the 06PCM or the 06FICM ..

i've also heard that you might run into problems with running an 05 up dash in an 03-04truck due to harness connections (i know that's not what you're doing, but there might be some things that you'll have to splice to make work)
the main thing is to keep everything that made the 03 run, keep with the motor. good luck sounds like a bit of work either way

IIRC, after reading the brochures from Ford when the 2005's came out, the frame had been completely redesigned.

I know fabtech makes a kit that converts the spring set-up over to the coil over/swing arm suspension.

as long as all the electronics follow the drivetrain you should be ok. All the body mounts are in the same place.

As far as the suspension goes, you could install the 06 suspension on the 03 frame. All the holes are there and all the pieces are riveted or bolted on. Ford didn't make any significant changes in the frame until the 08's.

your frames are the same, the main difference is in the design of the axle where the suspension mounts to it, the swap would be very easy, especially if you are using the newer axles.

yea the new frame comes complete with frame all axles and suspension and my 03 just has the motor and tranny and t case in it so all i am gonna have to do is just pull that out and put in the new frame and then go from there
