superchips to sct

I have an 03 6.0 F-350, that I just bought. The guy I bought it from didn't want to fool with fixing some of the problems on it, so I have been trying to figure them out and get it all fixed up right, so the truck is at the stealership right now getting a whole bunch of things done to it. My question for this post is this, the guy said, and still says it has the Banks six gun, but he is crazy (I think) because it uses a superchips tuner, and doesnt have any banks parts on it. I have been reading about sct's either livewire or xcal2 and wondered if it would be worth my while to remove the current chip and install one of the above mentioned programmers? and if so, how difficult is the uninstall of superchips and the install of one of the sct's.

sorry if this seems dumb, but I am new and couldn't find this question in the search. any help is appreciated. thanks

You will like the SCT much more. To uninstall it just load the stock program back up.

thats what I was hoping for. so it's really just kinda a plug and play type thing? maybe thats why the stealership didnt say anything about the chip, because I had it on stock since it had bad injectors it ran like crap otherwise

Does anyone know if the superchips tuner is vin locked, or can I put it on ebay once I get the other tuner?

One way to tell is by hooking it up to the truck, it will say if it is VIN locked. Or if you know that it has already been used to tune one vehicle. You can unlock the VIN by unloading/returning to stock the program from the original vehicle. Otherwise if you send it to Superchips they can unlock it too, but unless you have the original receipt it will cost you.
