How can I do this with my new SCT? Is it something Gearhead will have to write into my SRL? Are their benefits to doing it?

yes gearhead will write the srl tune to shut off the egr. Benefits are so that a egr code will not activate. I would still advise to leave egr plugged in... Alot of guys including myself have noticed loss of boost pressure when the egr is unplugged.

I wouldn't do it --- just keep it clean (every 5K or so) and/or look at an outright delete kit. The EGR IS the primary reason for 6.0L issues and accounts for a large portion of the complaints you see on this board.

My 6.0L has not one bulletproofing item on it and with 110K miles I'm keeping my fingers crossed ----with turn it into a true VT365 this summer -- meaning the turbo, injectors, and electronic configuration get "returned" to International parts.
