How much to expect?

I know this guy that has a 05 ext cab, short box, auto 4wd xlt and he has 80k on it now and he told me he was going to sell it in about a year with 120k on it. so i was wondering what you guys think i should expect him to sell this thig for, cause i have wanted this truck ever since he bought it and im first on the list when he does sell it.

thats of the motor even makes it to 100k. then again from what i understand the 05's aren't as big of headaches like the 03, and 04's were. at work they got an 05[pretty sure it's an 05 could be an 06] that hasn't had any work done to it yet, but it's only got 40k or so miles. the blue book estimate would probably be $14k bucks for it by then.

i'm gonna recant, and say if it's an 05 with 120k one year from now maybe $17k-$18k

I just traded my 04 in with 87 K and got $22,500 for it. So figure the one you want is a year newer which should put it in-line with mine now. Also keep in mind that mine is a trade in price. An outright sale should be even higher. I know this isn't what you want to hear but still the facts.

No way are you going to get it for 14-18k i am sorry i am not bashing anyone i am just saying its worth more if it has been taken care of and maintanced and the whole 9 yards. you are looking a low 20's like dan said. mines 2002 and i bought if for 21k its a good truck but thats what trade in on it and thats what i had to buy it for! Just check insurance and how much it will cost to plated it and everything because those can be huge factors in buy to. hope this is helpful

ya they guy takes great care of it and as far as a know rarley does any heavy towing with it. but like i said it will have 120k when he sells it and the closest one of you guys is 30k less, so i will expect around $20-22k. thanks for the help

I looked at an 05 F250 ext cab this summer with a long bed. 50k miles, no sunroof but pretty much everything else, they wanted $25k for it. I would have bought it, but they also offered me an 06 crew cab King Ranch F350 for 31... just couldn't say no...

Low 20's sounds about right, maybe a bit less as the engine will be out of warranty. On the other hand, 05's and 06's might hold their value better, as the 08's and 09's with all the new smog stuff seem to use more fuel.
