Has anyone heard....

We are the very lucky owners of a pre-emissions '07 6.0 which is an incredible engine, 17mpg in an RV!
Ford has re-introduced the 6.0 for the van market and we are wondering if anyone has heard what the differences are between ours and the new ones?

I think he's asking if the new 6.0s in the E series vans that have DPFs and 08 emissions crap get similar mileage to the pre-emissions 6.0s we all have.

I bet they suck as bad as the 6.4s.

actually yeah, they're not that bad as everyone is crying about. my 04 gets 10-12 normally and i can eke out 15 on the hiway.

the 08 gets 11-12 driving like a bat out of hell everywhere, and still 14-16 on hiway driving fast. and it's a heavy truck !!

of course during regen the power level drops off quite a bit and i'm sure mileage suffers horribly, but once we get to delete all that cat/dpf stuff and turn off the regen function we will have some seriously good HP and mileage especially once the engine gets broken in more.

I know a lot of people with 6.4s that would kill for 16. A friend of mine gets 9 city 13 highway driving like grandma in a 3/4 ton. My cousin's boss only gets about 1 MPG better than that in a SRW F-350. There are a few that do decent, but more do crappy. That's why I didn't buy an 08. I had a pretty good price on one, but I just didn't want to chance getting one of the ones that do bad on fuel. And all these are running stock, not with big tires and a lift like Lv's.
