just got truck back from service
it was smoking bad in the mornings and the exhaust fumes would knock you out and the overflow bottle would howl under deceleration, so it needed a egr cooler and a turbo up pipe, my batteries where going so i got two 8yr batteries and i also had the belt squeak so i got a serpentine belt. but my question is i still have the overflow bottle howl, what is causing this
it was covered under warranty, i had to pay for belt and batteries and the deductible a total of $749

$328 on batteries what kills me is they are 109 a piece and 108 labor
$272 on belt same here 69 for belt and 202 labor and tax |

Why not buy the batteries and do them on your own they are very easy to change

$108 just to install 2 batts? What is their labor rate, 500 an hour? I just changed both my batts, and it took 10 minutes start to finish. The batteries are higher capacity Walmart replacements, and they were about $150 total for both.
The belt change is beyond ludicrous too. The belt itself is worth 40-60 bucks, so that part isn't too out of line, but it's at most a 45 minute job to change it. They're raping you on labor. |
