Who here?

Who here has gotton there tow/haul light to flash. I'm just curious because a lot of people say the torqshift's are so great. I could disagree with that because I've gotton my light to flash probably 30 times and it still does it after the valve body got rebuilt.

The 5R110 is an extremely reliable transmission with the right tuning and will hold quite a bit of HP stock. Ever think it might be your tuner and not your tranny?

I have had the overdrive light flash at me alot in the past. But I have a 2002 F-250 with the 4r100. But after I had the trans rebuilt the proper way with heavy duty aftermarket parts and all the upgrades you can get for a 4r100 I have not had any problems.

I suggest you take the truck to a trans shop and have them scan the transmission for transmission trouble codes. A regular code scanner does not do this. You will need a transmission trouble scanner.

I've never been able to make mine flash on my PSD, even towing 12k lbs with DJ's tow tune... With as many problems as you've had with it, I'm surprised that you haven't considered that it might be the tuning.

Especially since in another thread. You stated you were running your PPE at 100hp over stock.

But had the trans running in the stock strategy. I would dump that thing for an SCT. I have never heard anything good about the PPE tuner on a 6.0, However they are great on a Dmax.

If the PPE is a "fuel module" and not a tuner then that's the whole ball of wax. It can't properly make the transmission adjustments to handle the power upgrade and/or it's confusing the TCM. I've never had my 5R110 go into limp mode and I guarantee I'm putting down more HP than your PPE box can.

Truck does surge when stock. It never surged until it got rebuilt due to reverse going out and harsh gear engagments.

Has the tranny ever been replaced or is the same person rebuilding it every time?
