Water in fuel light

I just changed the 2 fuel filters and have drained the frame mounted one 2-3 times and the light stays on......Where do I look next? I've read that the ol water is bad for the engine long term..

125k on engine.

Thanks in advance.

try a diesel additive....mine did the same and the lite wouldnt go off for anything.i put in a lil more additive than normal and it went out after i ran the tank full of fuel and drained the HCFM a couple more times...

on the other side of things i have heard that the sensor gets gummed up or whatever and reads out of whack sometimes..i think someone told me to pull the sensor out and clean it too but i dont remember..maybe someone knows for sure??

sweet! I must have fat fingered the search term when I looked earlier. I'll be trying the cleaning method and toss in some diesel kleen as well.

If that doesnt work, electrical tape! HAHA

I had a problem with mine. I just used compressed air in the water separating chamber and blew it out well. Wear glasses and put a rag in front.

There is also a replacement sensor from the original design.
