looking to by a used 05 f-250

just wondering if theres anything i should look for or be aware of before purchasing the truck. it is a 2005 6.0 diesel sitting on 20" rims 35" mudders white crew cab and in excelent shape with only 34000 on the engine. please let me know of anything i should look for or look into before purchasing.....thanks.

where can i find info on getting an oasis report done? sorry im new to all this.... but on the same note i dont wanna buy a lemon!

When I was looking I took the vin #'s of the trucks I was considering to my dealer and they ran reports on all for me

The Diesel Garage Forums - Powered by vBulletin you can have them run there. thing about having the dealer if they're the one selling the truck, they can leave information out of the report if they want, it's all in how much you trust them

Get and OASIS done, if you become a board supporter, then you can get them done for free. Most of the motor issues were worked out of the 05 and up 6.0L, so you should be ok. They have a Caliper problem with them, but nothing else to serious. An Oasis will tell you what warranty work has been done on the truck. In terms of tuning or something like that you won't be able to tell( unless the warranty was voided). You could see if its had a head gasket blown.. although it might not be a direct affect of tuning.... Really if its still got the stock headgaskets and headstuds they could not have been beating on it to hard... plus your stil covered by the 100K/5YR warranty.... so who cares.

How many Miles are on it?
Is it lifted? if so have the suspension checked and be ready to replace parts early
What are they asking for it?
Individual or Dealer selling the truck?
Make sure you get an Oasis report and make sure the truck still has its warranty,

Check to make sure this recall has been performed. No big deal if not, just make sure you get it done if needed soon after purchase.

Cost me a new tranny and almost 4k for a problem that was an easy fix. I hadn't heard of the issue until it was too late for me.
