Keep losing battery charge

Well, I've been noticing a trend for about the past week or two...the truck has been getting harder and harder to start, and I could tell the batteries were working to crank it up. Yesterday it barely started, with the radio flickering on and off for about 2 minutes after it was on and the lights were dim. Today it is completely dead, only clicks when turning the key. So now I'm stuck until tomorrow when I can get someone to come jump me.

Is this a common issue? Have my batteries just given out after 70,000 miles? I reckon I should upgrade to optimas. I dont think that my stereo would be doing this, its only a one little amp setup with a small 10 behind the back seat, and thats the only extra load on the electrical system beyond stock.

If you can not get the truck restarted then you can yank the batteries and alt and take them to auto zone or checkers. They will check them for free and tell you if the batteries are holding charge? And if the alt is putting out full power or partial.
