How to tell, latest flash?
How can one know if you're truck has the most current up to date flash? I have an '07, but the engine says '06. Is there a way to run the VIN? or just call the dealer?

ONE WAY TO TELL IF YOUR FLASH IS UP TO DATE IS WHEN YOU SHUT YOUR TRUCK DOWN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HEAR A WEIRD NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH YOUR HOOD THIS WOULD BE YOUR INJECTORS BLEEDING DOWN,THE OLDER FLASH DID NOT HAVE THIS.

hhhmm. I don't think I hear that after shut down. I better find a good service dept and check up on that.

I'm assuming the ultimate way to be sure is hook it up to the computer right?

I thought the weird noise was the old flash, my buddy has an early 05 and his does that and mine is an 06 no noise and another friend has a late 05 no noise.

just return your truck to stock and take it to the dealer and tell them you want the newest reflash, due to your having hard starting problems, and they will do it,i have an 06and ever since i had mine reflashed the injectors bleed off,and it fires right up cold or hot.

Previous flash had the injectors spool valve's cycle to drain the oil from them. The current flash uses the spool valves to cycle to create heat in the injector to allow the oil to flow easier and the spool valves not to stick.
