I think i am going to change the fuel filters this weekend, before winter.
How difficult? Doesn't seem like a big deal. Any tips to help me out? Smith |

Changing the filters is not all that bad. Just take your time, at least that is what I did since I had never changed oil or fuel filters in any of my other vehicals. Before removing the frame rail filter drain the fuel/ water seperator. Cut a two liter bottle about half way from the bottom and use this drain the water into a bucket. Keep some rags handy when removing the filter on the frame rail (Some diesel might little drizzle out).
Also, If you have a local IH dealer you can go there to buy fuel filter kits for around $35. While your at it replace the Fuel/Water seperator plug with the new and improved plug that you can twist with you fingers. Then you won't have to worry about stripping the plug's hole by using a 6mm hex allen. Moon |
