Ready for 1st mod, opinions

Hi, 2 weeks ago i bought a 2006 F250 cc 4x4 with 6.0. I purchased the scan gauge ii, and today i changed the oil and put in Rotella T6 (i hate the dip stick, its hard to tell what the reading exactly is, i put in 14 1/2 quarts and i couldnt really see the dip stick reading. It being the same color as the oil made it difficult) Anyway i am ready to start bulletproofing my 6.0. I was thinking of starting here as i am going to have to do this with a piece here and there. What do you think of starting with this 03-07 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel Basic EGR Cooler Delete Kit from Sinister Diesel
[SMC-EGRD-6.0B] $279.00. I will look to see if i can find a cheaper price on the net, i found this one at pure diesel power.com. Any opinons, i was also debating a colant flush and filter, or a oil bypass filter from Amsoil.
Thanks in advance, maybe this summer i can start the studs and ARP bolts.

The first thing I'd get is a monitor (the Edge CTS is great) and then a coolant filter.

Get the delta readings for ect vs eot, before you do any flushing. I second a coolant filter, just install it asap, you can flush anytime depending on delta readings.

Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get.

Deltas range from 5-7 difference, largest spread i saw was today 193 eot, 186 Eoc. So is there a particular coolant filter that you guys recommend?

Ipr is the best on the market right now, but anything is better than nothing. I personally have the xdp, if money is not an issue, go with ipr.

I second the IPR filter. That's what I'm running. Sure it's more expensive than others but the filter media is stainless and reusable/cleanable. If you're looking for an EGR delete and you're not going to drop the $$$$ on the BPD remote oil cooler, I suggest the IPR Gen 2 EGR delete. It's the best EGR delete on the market. It's a one piece setup.

I found an EGR delete on ebay for about $150, the block off plate and bypass tube were one piece. But, I'd leave the EGR valve in place. Can't go wrong with a coolant filter. I also have an Auto Meter EGT and fuel psi gauge in my truck. IMHO, I don't plan on studding my truck until it pushes a head gasket.

There are lots of threads about if/thens related to when to flush/change your oil cooler.

Can't say I blame you in regards to the HG's.
