Hey guys i ordered the IPR filter. I didnt get the one with the manifold, so i saved 70 bucks. After looking at the forum where people show what was coming out of their filters i agreed this was a good place to start. How do you clean all that gunk out of the filter to re-use it?

Rinse it with water. Some people soak it in simple green, purple power, you know some sort of degreaser. Then do a final rinse with some distilled water and put it back together.

The best filter is the IPR coolant filter. It's a stainless media and requires only cleaning. It's reusable. It's also on average, $100 more than the rest on the market, but you never have to buy a filter cartridge ever again.

Onebadcoastie,
If you bought the same filter as me, did you set it up the prefered way where it doesnt effect the heater if clogged or as a inline full flow system, filtering 100% of the coolant?

As far as the install goes it looks pretty easy, mounting the filter in your engine bay and using hoses and hose clamps.

You can call me Shack. It's my nickname (also in my sig)...lol... I ran mine to my heater core hoses in what's commonly referred to as a bypass setup. If I turn the A/C on max, it won't circulate coolant through the filter. I also don't have an OEM oil cooler so it's not a concern for me. Mine is mounted just like they show on the website. When I get back from florida, my plan is to relocate to somewhere sturdier in the truck. That inner fender works well but is flimsy sheet metal. The corner of the filter assembly in my case rests on the vacuum canister to aid in supporting it.

Thanks Shack (Diesel)

I have the BPD remote oil cooler, Odess cylinder heads, Ford Blue Spring, No Limit CAC, 175cc/stock nozzle injectors, S&B intake, ....you know, just a few little goodies. Once I get back from a work related trip, I'll be modifying my fuel system. I also have the Looney Wild tune from Vivian and SRL+ from Matt.

The filter was installed before I decided to purchase the BPD kit. After having it, I decided to keep it. It will help pick up ANY debris in the system including casting sand should there be any and it's not hurting me to run it.
