Trans Temp???

ok my trans temp gauge is hooked up and i see temps in the 200-210 range driving on the highway and even just parked i stays that high. something doesnt seem right. id this too high for temps? i know on my dodge i couldnt beat the trans enough to get the temp to 180.

that is way high.... you dont want to go over 210... i like to keep mine at under 170...either your temp probe is off or could mean you have other problems with the trans. if everything seems alright i would get a secondary trans cooler with a built on fan.

i just had the trans fluid and filter changed and the fluid looked o.k. the trans shifts perfect. i know the dash gauge isnt too accurate but it cant be that far off im thinking. well ill try another temp sending unit and see if that helps.

the stock one is useless.... my stock will always be at normal with my auto meter one being at anywhere from 150-200 with the stocker saying normal.... i added a secondary trans cooler with the built on fan and havnt gone over 180 since then.... here is a couple of pics of it...

something doesnt seem right especially since the torqshift cooler is pretty big the way it is. What were the temps at before the flush? Was mercon SP put back into the tranny

Maybe a blocked or partially blocked cooler? those temps seem way too hight to be normal

Daily driving I run 130 - 170... towing 185 is the highest ist ever got.

I agree. Those are way too high. Does your tranny cooler get warm? Sounds like it might be the problem.
