terrible fuel economy

Ok guys I need any ideas you all can throw out. Lately (the past few months or so) I have gotten absolutely terrible fuel economy...like 12 mpg, not towing or anything and not putting my foot into it much. changed my fuel filters roughly 2K miles ago, and I have been running SCT economy tune from DJ. I tried going back to stock to see what I could get... not any better. My wallet can't take this anymore with diesel prices where they are!! Anyone have any ideas for me?? By the way, I have 35" open country MT's.

How much oil did you drain from the pan?
I had injectors leaking once and the result was vary bad fuel milage - fuel leak = poor milage - anyway, i always think of that when i hear a story like yours.
Check your oil level closely and if it seems to rise, theres your problem.
If not, then i have no idea what to tell you.

thats a good idea...i'll start monitoring that pretty closely. when I drained the oil I drained straight into a big drum so I don't know exactly how much. I figure something has to be wrong to see a drop that significant...

and chris why are you getting rid of your AFE stage II ?
