In June (2012) I had my FICM ECM/TCM rolled back by Bill at PHP to an earlier programming that he thought was better for 6.0 trucks. While doing the ECM/TCM he also did an EGR Delete for me. No tunes for me as I'm all stock and I didn't want to risk more stress than needed and besides the current HP and torque works well for me. The rollbacks were to give me better fuel mileage and lower end response.

So how did it do on mileage? did it go up? right now i'm gettin 15 in town and around 17 maybe alittle more on highway...not to worried bout the hp i've got all the bulletproofing done except for the blue spring... with my edge i'm running on level 5 with no issues at all and from what i've read with the atlas or hercules stacked on top of edge it should be another 150 or so? if im not missing anything and thats bout all i can go with out bigger injectors. trannies in great shape but like i said really interested in what people think about doin both and hearin from them....thanks and hope to hear more....

You might want to go join the Cummins crowd. You will see minor gains on top of the Edge. Another 150 is a pipe dream. It doesn't stack that way.

If your a moderator...you suck...just my opinion in no ways should be leading in the manor of which you do...to belittle other members like you do..with that said if thats not a way a stack works can someone enlighten me thanks....

I too have been beached slaped by SVT and ya he needs to eeezzz up a bit. This forum is about learning and BS'n about what your doin and tryin. Their is not always a right and wrong way of doing things. And heck sometimes I have learned the most by trying something else, doing it wrong and failing.
Just dont ask SVT about oil filters or get on a talk about mpg's after a ficm replacment! Dont be a bully just because u can.

Dont know much about the rollbacks- but i believe most people that do the rollbacks get them to maxamize there custom tune and efficiency of the truck. I would like to get one as well i dont have the latest so im not to concerned... Bottom line, you wont ever see good fuel mileage if that skinny pedal is to the floor weather you have the roolback or the latest.... My point is i dont think people get the rollbacks for fuel mileage or horsepower gains

I'll be honest, but to be fair, I think my expectations were/are out of line. We mainly use the truck for hauling our 16k# 5er. My goal for the rollback was to increase our MPG from the 10ish to something higher and to make the truck run better overall. Many believe that the older programming was better than the newest code (which mine was on) for things such as MPG and low end power. Well....the MPG change didn't happen. However, after a reality check, I realized that with the load we haul, 10-12 MPG is probably good. On the other hand, we took the truck on a trip in November w/o a load (just passengers) and the MPG was 18+ hand calculated with the tank topped. So for this size rig, I was pleased and do feel the rollback helped MPG wise....just not when hauling loads. And it does appear to have better response at the lower end of the RPM scale.

I will offer this....I've been pleased with PHP and more specifically Bill. When he and I chatted on the phone for the programming, it's clear that he is a brilliant and good/solid person. I don't feel like he sold me anything I didn't need/want and I would trust his judgement. Bill and I talked at length about the programming and because I'm stock (no studs, etc) I was nervous about adding any more HP that could cause issues down the road. Although Atlas 40 may have been an option for me, Bill didn't push more and was fully supportive of my intentions while being on the conservative side.

So that said....if you can get a hold of Bill (he's incredibly busy and hard to catch up with), then suggest you chat with him and get his take on your situation.
