Soon to be final photo-log on my build.

Reminder of what my meager tool set looks like.

Old gaskets heading to the trash can.

Supplies in preparation for start up. I flushed with VC-9 before the tear down, but wanted to run distilled water for a bit to get any possible cross contamination out in my next flush before I put in some good ELC.

The T6 seems to have quieted down the motor a good bit. That was a pleasant surprise. I'm a Mobil1 synthetic fan boy for my gas burners, and even found the Mobil 1 had specific oil for diesels, but the price was higher and no one within 20 miles stocked it in any large quantity-that would be needed especially after the BPD oil cooler. So T6 it is.

Again-reminders of the space I am working with.

On to the bread and butter.

Running the BPD oil cooler lines. STOUT!

I'm losing my workspace in the engine bay

Mock fitting to check clearances and to get the hood latch back in the right spot. I didn't mark my cross-member so I had to trial and error the fitting until
i got a good hood latching.

As it sits now.

I need to clean up the hose routing a little.

So aside from the fuel leak it did fire up and run smoother than before-probably due to the oil and cleaning of the intake runners.

I pulled DTC 0046 which can me a few things, but I already know the issue. The connector from harness to VGT was so brittle it fell apart when I connected it back together. Looks like I'll be ordering that part to splice in tomorrow.

So, how much more oil does the system hold with the BPD set up?

Just run a Fumoto valve. That way you can shut it off then replace your bucket.

I guess I was going with the attitude that they were good to begin with. I had zero problems with this other than the ect/eot. I planned on doing the BPD remote oil cooler/filter and while I was in there I might as well and ARPs and everything that goes with it.

I could understand if I was blowing smoke, popping the degas, or other problems, but again, I had zero problems other than the act/eot.

I have done this in depth head work before on a Chevy that did blow the HG and needed to get the heads machined, so I'm not ignorant of process or precautions.

Talking to Ford techs and having them tell me not to machine the heads sort of weighed more to me than the overwhelming number of people on the forums saying to have them machined regardless of the reason for pulling them.

I appreciate and respect your input. Your thread is what convinced me I could tackle this myself.

I can appreciate that. I just hope that for yours and your finger's sake it holds up.

Anyhow congratulations on successfully tackling this project and good luck in the future. I'm glad that my thread was able to inspire you to do the work yourself and get to know the inner workings of your 6.0l. Keep this thread updated in the future and let us all know how it works out for you.

That's bad a**, wish I would have looked at a setup like that for my Tacoma instead of putting the shocks and hoops through the box.
