mods and parts......
heres where I'm at as far as non-interior mods or train horn....
05 F250 CC 4X4 short bed. zoodad mod, AFE Stage 1 intake, 4" turbo-back magnaflow exhaust (finally installing this evening).. 1st: Intake AFE stage 1 seemed to change almost nothing so far, at least nothing like the zoodad mod with the stock filter and airbox. I'm hoping it will open up with the exhaust installed! just looking at the intake before I put it in I wasn't that impressed, it looed like a metal version of the stock plastic box, and a reusable air filter which didn't seem like it would flow much more with the huge plate at the face of the filter blocking air. Has anyone made the switch from a Stage 1 to a Stage 2 intake and can tell me the difference??? .................................................. .................................................. ... 2nd: Leveling kit Getting one for my birthday the 24 th of next month. Even with my 265 stock tires on stock 17" rims I think it will improve the looks of my truck, and also leaves options open for the bigger tires I want to get in the spring. Anyone have any advice on installation? Or is there a brand that makes the best quality??? I'm looking at the spacers because I dont think I can get my fiance to swing the $400 plus for the spring and shock kit I saw somewhere. .................................................. .................................................. ... 3rd: High-Idle mod for someone who drives 90% highway and about an hour everyday, is this something I should look at doing??? and is it free like the zoodad mod??? I'm gonna look on here more and see what I find out about it. Just seen tons of posts and the consensus is "do it" "Do It" "DO IT!" but haven't seen reasons why yet.....I may be far removed form highschool but that peer pressure is still tempting! lol .................................................. .................................................. ... 4th: and Last......programmers/chips I have about 35,000 miles left on my expensive extended warranty, so I am gonna wait for a programmer since my dealer that the warranty is thru said the computer codes its presence and the flag that immediately and refuse to cover warranty issues on anything if they see it. POST-100,000 miles tho, I wanna look at the option of getting a programmer, but since I dont have the money to have headstuds installed and dont really think thats a job I want to tackle myself. Is there a "MILD" programmer or chip or whatever thats gonna work best for mileage? I rarely tow anything but maybe a 12' enclosed with 2 streetbikes in it....maybe a couple thousand pounds. And a few times in the summer I might tow a hay trailer with 14-18,000 pounds on it, which stock my truck didnt even notice! So mpg increases would be my main goal, I'm not racing honda civics either by the way. Thanks again for all the help! |

exhaust installed this afternoon.....awesome! Kinda dissappointed you guys on here didn't tell me how much difference it makes!
Drove my buddies 2000 Excursion with 8" lift, 20's, and 37" tires......I might have to do at least a lil lift and bigger tires. Gonna need somin else tho, cause that thing made you pay attention or it would walk all over the road! |

Sct xcal seems to be the tuner of choice for the 6.0. Can't help on what kit to buy for the leveling. High idle mod I would say don't really need unless you idle alot or want to warm the truck up faster in cold temps. As far as switching from the stage 1 too stage 2 its probobly worth it with the better filtration on the pro guard filters and more flow to the turbo.
