what to do?
Im going to post this in the 6.4 section and also the 6.0 section.
I am getting ready to buy a truck in the next few weeks and i keep going back and forth on wether or not I want a 6.4 or a 6.0. I only tow probably 10 times a year and most of the time its not much more then a couple of horses or a ford mustang. I drive 40-50k miles a year mostly for work (oilfield) so i want something that will hold up to the miles. It will be a 4wd 4door truck what ever i end up deciding. The question is if any of you had a choice which truck would u choose 06-07 model 6.0 or 08-09 model 6.4 and why? TIA for the answers |

06-07 6.0 i have never driven a 6.4 but i hear the mpg is horrid. best truck i have ever owned is my 07 f-250(rip). i now have an 05 excursion 6.0 and love that also. i get an avg of 22 mpg with it. the 07 also has the best turbo on it

I would go with the 6.4 as they make a ton of power with little modding and are newer

This is a tough decision to make... I have a 6.0 and love it, easy to work on and fairly inexpensive to fix if the repairs are done yourself.. That being said the 6.4's are new, make lots of power as stated but dam- would not want to work on one. Only way i would own a 6.4 is if it had the warranty with it.. I feel bad for the 6.4 owners that run out of warranty.

if you dont mind the 6.0 then that is what i would buy considering some of the deals i see on them.

Ehhhh, I was never able to get over 16 or 17 MPG out of my '03 6.0L, and it was on a leveling kit and 33's. I couldn't break 17 hardly on tunes alone, or when I had tunes, injectors, turbo, fuel pump, etc. On my '08, I've seen over 20 MPG a few times, and that's on 4" lift and 35's.
