Neighbors kid smashed my bed, upgrade!!!

Neighbors kid across the street backed his Nissan into the back right corner of my bed the other day. Not bad, but it tweaked it, and gouged the metal.

Buddy of mine owns a body shop, and wrote up the estimate to the tune of $1500.

My bed has the typical Northeast rust inside the fender wells.
Its just starting to show through the paint on the fender lips on the bed.
He has a guy in MA that has BRAND NEW take off beds from 2013 Fords.
He has done two bed swaps in the last month, they look great.
The body lines match up better than you think they would.

I guess it works in my favor, the damage is paying for most of the new bed.
The body shop is also allowing me to come over and POR15 the entire underside before they flip it for prep.
Also comes with a new tailgate, and new tail lights for $2500.
I just have to pick it up, 2.5hrs each way.
Hes only charging me $500 to paint the bed, install the decals, AND spray a Rhino liner! He has a bed liner booth in his shop. Score!

I had planned to buy a new bed soon any way, guess its nice to have it happen this way and have someone help out!

The kid that hit my truck, hit the dads work van last week, and ripped the meters off the side of the house two days before he hit my truck.....

I hope your gonna post picks when it's done. Did your buddy mention if the bed was a direct bolt on or needed mods.

It's awesome that your buddy is able to look out for you but I would def keep my vehicle away from that kid!! My buddies daughter wrecked 5 vehicles (totaled 2) in 2 years...from 16yrs-18yrs.

Let's see pictures when its done. If you're talking about the same ad I've been seeing then I was planning on checking it out too as my crossmembers are gone on my bed.

Its a direct bolt on, my insurance company put a 2012 bed on after my accident and it looks like **** with 04 front fenders,
