6.0 questions about edge

Hello everyone I am new to this forum. I just bought a 06 f350 dually that is stock except for the air box and a few stock replacement parts (turbo egr cooler and valve, and oil pump) I was looking at buying the edge evolution programmer not to make a race truck but to basically have cheap gauges. They offer 3 different stages 10hp and 55 torque 60 hp 100 torque and 100 hp 200 torque. I know the sct programmers are way better but like I said I just basically want to watch pids however do you guys think my truck would be save on stage 2 or even stage 1? Honestly I would get one of three options. A scanguage (cheapest monitor), edge cts, or Livewire TS. Those three are the best options for monitors without using another device like an iPhone. If you have an iPhone or some other device that you don't mind using for tuning you can get dashboss, a lot of members have used it and have had good luck.

Livewire TS would be my choice and wish I would have gotten that as it can monitor and tune your truck with space for custom tunes. It's new to the 6.0 world, but I believe it's the best all in one solution.

If you get the CTS or scan guage, get an SCT with custom tunes for tuning. Your tranny and truck will thank you. I know you said you didn't want to go this route but I believe it's the only way to go. If you want to use canned tunes, that's your own prerogative. It's not the best thing for your truck.

I want the best bang for the buck not wanting to spend a lot the evolution is 370 shipped and something that will display pids and do a little tuning as long as it won't hurt my stock truck I do have an iPhone....

scan gauge is $160 and can be gotten at any autozone

also Dashboss for iphone is $170 and can be purchased at dashboss.com. I have it and I love it

And the scanguage will not hurt your truck by running those canned tunes. Believe me after you feel the power of custom tuning and how well your truck runs you will love it.

Install anything Edge other than just a monitor and you're asking for trouble.
