Got my dashboss !!!

Just got my dashboss in today and emediatly plugged it in and went for a ride... It was an easy setup... I just set a few of the basic parameters to watch for the first test run... I just picked this truck up a few months ago and this will be the first time to monitor it.. 07 KR drw ... This is what I monitored on a 20 mile trip.. 55 degrees here in Texas.. ( that's cold to us lol)

ECT... around 187
EOT... Around 197
FICM.... 47.5
ECU... 13.89
Trans temp... 145

Also had speed, rpm, and boost..

Now this was just the first run with it, and the screen was really cool looking on my iPad... Question is now what other parameters should I monitor... This is a completely stock truck except for the muffler...

I too run the dashboss. I love it. I watch all kinds of different pid's lol they change almost daily depending on what I'm doing. Icp, ipr, egr, vgt those would all be good ones to start watching from time to time.

Not wanting to hijack, but here are some pics. Also, my external sensors were flipped A&B (1&3) for the communication with the brain.

5v from EGR plug for fuel sender


12v for EGT. Under dash by brake controller. You need to connect your ground inputs to the frame before going into the DashBoss accessory connection. The DashBoss ground through the unit will not work for the sensors! You will get funny ha ha values.

You have covered the basic PID's for monitoring, adding fuel psi would be the next step. If you run a tune and/or tow heavy, then EGT would be on your "to do" list. The rest of the PID's are basically for troubleshooting.

On a side note: after I updated my iphone4s to the 6.0.1 OS with voice map direction. Your able to have the DashBoss running and still receive the voice directions and turning arrows (pop up screen), at the same time!

Cool... I ordered the egt with it also but they said they were backordered a couple of days... I just got the single one cause I didn't see the need for 2 egt since I won't be hauling any heavy weights... Once I get back home I will order the part off eBay for the fuel pressure ...

Your sig says you have a 2001, the DashBoss will only work on CAN supported ECM. Only 2003 (6.0) powerstoke and up will work with DashBoss.

Thanks for the info, I did not know that. I tried to get info on Palmer Performance set up, but no one replied. I have seen them at sema in vegas and a friend has one on his duramax. Emailed them, they say will work on my 01, 02 ranger, and 00 Ls, we shall see.

Palmer Performance runs the DashCommand for iPhone, when I researched OBDII for iPhone, I checked out DashCommand forum, one question was asked if it would read EOT thru the OBDII, and it did not. So spite what the website says, you will have to find out exactly what Palmer can monitor on your 7.3.
