Brother in law buying this truck- need info asap!

Here is the truck:
2005 Ford Super Duty F-250 Lariat Mansfield, Texas | North Texas Truck Stop

Seeing that the Northeast is void of rust free, mod free trucks right now, he found this one in Texas. He lives in CT. Flying down this Thursday to inspect/buy/drive home. I cant go with him, so I thought this would be a good place for him to have all his info in one spot.

Truck has:

6" lift, brand unknown
18" wheels
Cold air intake
That looks to be it from the pics.
The dealer says thats all it has.
Maybe you guys can pick up on other stuff I missed from a visual.

He had an Oasis and Carfax run, both are spotless.
My brother in law has a good relationship with the owner of our local Ford dealer.

I told him to start it cold, look for colored smoke- blue, white, gray, etc.
Listen for "romps" or a shakey start.
Check fluid colors and levels.

What else should he look for before he leaves with it?
He will be driving it from Texas straight to CT.
It already has plans to be bullet proofed once it gets home.

Just seems like a very low price for what it is.
My truck is the same year, I bought mine in 2009, with 60k miles, for the same price, and mine is an XLT not Lariat, cloth no leather, ext cab no crew cab, you get the idea.

I am not a big fan of aftermarket air filters, but it looks clean.

Tell him to get a monitor like an Edge Insight and check the FICM voltage, and the ECT/EOT delta before he signs the papers. Take it for a good test drive to make sure it's warmed up before he gets the delta.

Good call Pgreen! He should buy an Edge and bring it with him.
He wants a Ford diesel, even if its not this truck.
