I think that is what this whole site is about. About learning these trucks and their weak points and being proactive about fixing them ie elc coolant, coolant filters, etc. And I'm not saying it's anything you did or haven't done. Granted yes there are people who get a lemon and some that do everything right and it still fails, but all in all these are great trucks and there are plenty of write ups and people willing to help.

Bulletproof it, and you don't have to worry about the oil cooler ever again. Make sure you drive it hard, 6.0's do not like being babied at all.

It's a love/hate relationship. I love to hate it
, but most of the time I love it.

I will say that most of the problems I have had were induced by the dumb azz behind the wheel. I got lucky and had my studs done under warranty. The only things that have gone wrong with mine was a FICM and one injector. But then again I drive a ford buy back.

Even after doing the studs and the BPD oil cooler, radiator and water pump I still couldnt touch a beat up Dodge/Chevy. And heck I always cheer for the under dog!!!

Come drive mine. That will make you understand why we continue to love these trucks.

I know they can be temperamental, but I love mine

I have 228K on it. I've done most the necessary mods and the truck just keeps going. I blew out the passenger side EGR pipe bellows last week. Luckily I had my old "sneaky pipe" modded EGR up-pipe...swapped it back in today. I had a straight up-pipe to use but I just couldn't get aligned properly. I'll do some work to the straight pipe and get it installed at some point. I love my truck. I'll do what it takes to make it run. |
