Power Steering Pump
Has anyone replaced the powersteering pump themselves? Ford wants almost $600 to replace it, but I can buy it and do it myself for $175. I can't believe it is $400 labor, that's what 5 hours book time? What's it really take to do it myself?

Its gonna take you 3-5 hours... It is a PITA and all the way at the bottom of the engine on the drivers side...
But with that in mind, I would save the money and still do it myself KNOWING that it is a PITA ![]() I like to save money, even if it will take me 8 hours... its $400 I can use on something else ![]() All depends on how you are with tools and getting dirty! |

Not 100% if the set up is the same as with my 7.3, but if it is, its a PITA but I would do it in a heartbeat over $400 saving. Just as long as you have the pulley puller.
