The reason for the repeat head gaskets is that many, many Ford techs will just slap new gaskets on, check the heads with a straight edge and slap it back together. If they blow again they get a repeat job. The Ford procedure says nothing about having the heads decked and Ford's position is that they can't be decked. If they are out of Ford's goofy spec they replace them with a new set of warped heads.

All 6.0 heads need to be decked, I don't care who tells you differently.

Yes the EPA never designed it. but they pushed it too early.
You keep going back to the bolt count for the heads being low... If you fix the EGR cooler by deleting ON TIME and don't run high HP tunes, you will most likely not have issues with your HG your reason does not make sense.

i put 100,000 miles on my 03, and 127,000 and counting on my 05 never added a drop of coolant to either one. the deepest ford ever was into either engine was injectors. the warranty on the 05 expired jan 09 it hasn't been in the shop since. oil changes and 1 coolant flush. yup them 6.0 are total crap, horrible just nasty. this summer we were running from yellowstone to western momtana. some pretty big grades there BTW. ambient temps just over/under 100. i pulled those hills flat to the floor with my slide in camper. massive frontal area huge wind drag. never overheated. spit a cup of coolant once. i had been about that much over the full mark since my flush so all it really did was find its happy level. fan was howling like a bugger
