Ford Coolant
Just got my new to me truck back from a local diesel mechanic where I spent 5k to bullet proof it including new Oil Cooler, EGR Delete and coolant filter. The mechanic flushed the coolant but put the Ford Gold back into it.
Since there is now a coolant filter, new oil cooler and no egr to clog is this ok or should I still change it out? Or should I just run it for a while and change it next time? 2005 F-250 with 99k on the clock. |

Imo, do it now, or do it later, but it should be fine up to 30k miles consider getting rid of it, and switching to elc, after that.
Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get. |

IMO, Ford Gold is adequate if you have it flushed and refilled every 30k like is recommended by Ford. If you are going to switch to ELC, you should do a chemical flush, and I wouldn't want to do that with a new oil cooler.

If it was me I would just get rid of it now and put the right stuff in.
