New powerstroke owner ?'s
I had the scanner hooked up to it during the test drive to watch oil, coolant, and ficm power.
Temp deltas were max 7 degrees different at any time. ficm voltage wasn't the best at only 47.5v never higher and saw 46.5 a couple times on decel still no deal breaker to me as the price was right. The only problem I noticed was at WOT the boost would surge watching the gauge. I forgot to monitor the ICP and boost pressures with the scanner however so i can't comment as to any real data. What would cause this? didn't notice it at anything but WOT. ![]()

Could be dirty turbo maybe egr valve sticking slightly, vgt sensor, exhaust leak, could you feel it, or are you just talking about the dash guage? Probably nothing major.

i wanna say i could feel it but i was watching the gauge so it may have been the placebo effect. lol
once i get it home ill be able to dig deeper into it with the scanner |

Yup price was right and it came with these brand new bfgs and a set of 5 summer tires with 50% tread.
and its the cleanest truck i've found after two months (kinda picky) only paid 16k for it. |

Welcome to the org! Good deal, i'm jealous of the tires, lol, i've got slicks on mine. Read all the stickies here, but dont get caught up in misinformation, not too much here. I suggest a coolant filter when you can swing it, ipr has the best on the market, but anything is better than nothing. What kind of monitor do you have?

I have an Auto Enginuity with the ford expansion on my laptop. I just didn't get a chance to use it on my buddies truck before getting to this test drive.
I updated my signature with truck info. I printed that page off already, very helpful when going to check a truck out! So has this entire site! |
