Coming down Cajon pass last weekend with trailer, tow haul engaged, when I tapped the brakes trans down shifted, rpm's went up to around 4,000 and heard a loud squealing sound, this is the second trip that this same noise was heard, any ideas ?

Check this as well

On the belt I would check it for any cracking and make sure it's good and tight

How many miles on the belt? If you have over 60,000. I would change it and keep the ols one for a spare

If your commin, it's over. If your stroken, it's just started.
