What the hell caused this!?!

Speedo when out while at the track yesterday, went to replace the sensor today, and found this. I've never been inside a Dana 80, is there any way the abs ring can come loose?

There are quit a few things in the rear end that can come loose, I know i'm not being specific. You should probably pull the cover.

Oh yea, I plan on pulling the cover for sure. I just didnt have the time or new gear oil at work today.

What's crazy is, I put the old sensor back in so it wouldn't mess up the new one. And I left it unplugged because the speedometer was jumping around causing the converter to go in and out of lock up, but with it unplugged the speedo works perfect. I guess it has a sensor in the trans also. Of corse I still have an abs light and code.
But I'll pull the cover prolly thi weekend.

As far as I know, the rear sensor is just for abs.

the fronts are just ABS and the rear is ABS VSS vehicle speed sender from all I ever learned about these

No it's an auto. 03 6.0 drw Dana 80

Update.....the clutches in the possi unit exploded and took out the abs ring. So now I'm trying to figure out if I should get another stock limited slip or a locker.
