Bunch of Injector code, but no symptoms, help!
I was driving down south yesterday in the rain and randomly while cruising the Edge Insight I have for monitoring lit up with codes. No check engine light came on the dash and no symptoms on the truck really. The codes were as follows:
P0261: Cylinder #1 Injector Circuit Low P0264: Cylinder #2 Injector Circuit Low C1501: Unknown P1555: Unknown P1112: IAT Circuit intermittent fault P0055: H02S Heater Resistance (Bank 1 Sensor 3) First thought was chaffed harness or something? I stopped and cleared the codes and all was fine and about 100 miles later they came on again. I was worried something would stop me from getting home, but the truck is still running fine. 3 more times it popped up with the same codes, every couple hours or so. Got it back home, I THINK it may have a miss in 1 cylinder but if it does its pretty minor or it is my mind playing tricks on me. Usually when there is injector stiction or something the idle gets very chunky, but its super smooth still. Went out to go to work today and it thew all the codes again. Any ideas whats up? Maybe that "other" part of the FICM that goes bad even if the voltage is over 45? I searched and read about this on some results that came up from other forums. I have no clue how to address this issue. |

A couple of threads pointed to a loose FICM connection.

Here is a list from a thread with basically the same code issues you are seeing.

I had all 8 injector low codes pop up right before my FICM went out. I would test that first to at least rule out the possibility. Check out FICMrepair.com for how to troubleshoot, he also repairs them if that's your issue; much cheaper than buying a new one and he comes highly recomended.
Have you checked FICM voltage while cranking? In addition to running and key on? Mine passed with the key on, but had only 18 volts while cranking. |

Thanks guys, I have spoken to Ed @ FICMrepair.com before but my problem then turned out to be something else. I think the time is now. Lame timing with the holiday coming up for me.

Might as well go back through the electrical, Batteries and Alt.
But, I would check those connectors just for piece of mind. |

Got a DC Power high output alternator about a year ago along with new batteries. I will check battery voltages and charge them when I pull the FICM though. I am happy the truck did not leave me stranded like when the Alt took a dump last time. I probably should have replaced the FICM then, but oh well. Worst possible week for this to happen.

Well, just an update, sent the FICM to Ed at ficmrepair.com, it did not get delivered until monday the 26th... but they were able to fix it and put the atlas 40 on it and get it out same day and I got it delivered to my door in CA before noon on tuesday! Hell yeah, made my day, and I did not even choose the overnight option. Truck runs great, smoother after cold start and no codes. Highly recommend FICMrepair.com, the turnaround was awesome.
I have not gotten a chance to play with the Atlas 40 tune yet... honestly I do not feel much of a difference coupled with Matt's SRL+, but we will see if mpgs improve. |
