P401

P 401 code on after I did the IPR gen 2 delete. The truck is a 03 I thought the 03 wouldn't throw a code? And the egr valve doesn't come out with those kits so I'm kinda confused.

I bet it doesn't set the check engine light though. That's the difference

It will throw a code but doesn't usually set the check engine light.

Ya it set the light off, cleared it and and took it for a quick spin and it hasn't come back on yet. Just wondering why it would set the light off with the valve still in?

It's not checking that the valve is there or not. The code is for insufficient flow to valve. Has insufficient flow because the cooler is gone.

I've never heard of an 03 setting light for EGR. I know a guy who runs with the latest calibration and the valve completely unplugged and it doesn't even set a light.

Any other codes besides insufficient flow?

No other codes yet! Wonder if I should get a block off kit and take it out?

A block off would do the same thing. I wouldn't worry about it.
